Spaghetti squash and other stuff

Now that I have 1/2 my wedding finally posted, before I start on the other 1/2 (just like the first half, it will probably take me month to get that post done) I decided to write about some random things first.
Spaghetti squash! Heidi had told me how awesome spaghetti squash is and I have seen it on others blogs frequently. I always thought "I hate the taste of squash. And all squash is the same... nasty". Well, at the store last week I decided to pick one up. Not even sure why. I guess curiosity got the best of me. Rillz made it last night and we made spaghetti sauce and meatballs to put on top. LET ME TELL YOU!!! I basically ended up just eating the spaghetti squash by itself. So good! Has a nice nutty flavor and what a good substitute for noodles. Definitely a keeper. Rillz said he used spaghetti squash for all sorts of things in school. He even sprinkled sugar on it and then deep fried it. REALLY?!? That is on my to-do list now. Deep frying is the best way to make something completely healthy into something deliciously unhealthy. Anyways I highly recommend Spaghetti squash!

I am a little embarrassed to say this but... Rillz and I are actually pretty dang excited for the new Twilight movie to come out. We didn't read the books but have watched the other movies and come on, you have to complete what you started right?!? So watching that movie will be a must for us.

Can you believe November is half way over? The Delilah radio station has already started playing Christmas music 24/7. I have tried to listen to it but it doesn't feel quite right yet. What happened to the tradition of starting the 24/7 Christmas music on Thanksgiving? I think that date is way more appropriate. So, therefore, I will be holding off on the all the time Christmas station. Which is big for me because I LOVE Christmas music!!! Which, Thanksgiving is only a week away. Crazy! That's all for now.

Drive-in theatre

Last week Kristi and Jeff invited us to go with them to the drive-in movies in Caldwell. It sounded like fun and Rillz was up to it too so we decided to join them. I got off work at 8 that night and hurried home to get my dogs and clothes for the next couple days. We decided to stay the night at my parents. (My dad also surprised all of us by coming home for 3 days this weekend). I got to my parents, dropped off my dogs and took off to the theatre. Kristi and Jeff brought their truck and had an air mattress in the back. The movies were Shrek 4 and Prince of Persia. Shrek 4 was pretty good. We all loved it. By the time Prince of Persia was on it was midnight and I was getting a little sleepy. I got to be a baby hog for the night. We all had a great time! Thanks Millers for inviting us along.

Gunnar stayed up for both movies... until 2 a.m.!
I can never get a nice smiley picture out of Rillz

Baby Brecken!

Jeff hardly ever gives a nice smiley face either. This face is pretty goofy

Gunnar looks so cute in this one.

What is great about Twilight?

Rillz has been interested in seeing Twilight this last week. Neither of us had seen the 1st or 2nd one. I am not to into vampire movies or any movie that is a bit far fetched. I rented both of those yesterday for Rillz and decided I might as well watch them. I mean, look at their fan base. It is frickin huge so there must be something I am missing about the whole series. Rillz and I didn't read the books either... Anyways, we watched one last night and then one this morning. It is a nice love story of a girl stuck between two guys. That always makes for a good movie except, one is a vampire and one is a werewolf. Come on people. This girl happens to fall in love with non humans when everyone in the town has no idea they are non humans. Rillz thought the acting was terrible, I thought it was decent BUT the wolves are SO unrealistic. Come on people it was, what, 2008 when it came out. They could have done a much better job. And the part when Jacob climbs up to her window at night was so retarded looking. Special effects are not special in this movie! It's a nice movie just to see but to be obsessed about? I don't get it. I would never care to be one of the first people to rush to the theatre and see it. I don't know if it is actually viewers thinking this is an awesome, well worth it series or if it is media and commercialized. I just don't understand how this movie got so much fame. Anyone want to help me out on this one. And, yes, I will rent the 3rd one when it comes to redbox someday but it isn't worth more than a dollar to see.

Julie and Julia

Ok so today my mom and I decided to go see a movie. I didn't even have to question what movie I wanted to see. Whether my mom wanted to see it or not my choice was definitely Julie and Julia. Now that I am with a chef our lives are completely planned around food. I just fell in love with the preview. The movie had to be great right?!?
Verdict is.... GREAT story and adorable movie. Meryl Streep and Amy Adams totally won my heart. So funny and completely realistic, not cheezy at all. Story line gets 2 thumbs up...
BUT... part way through the camera crew has terrible shots. In plenty of scenes with "Julia" you can clearly see the microphones dangling down from the top of your screen. This didn't happen once, or twice, but about 10 times. I giggled out loud everytime too. So disappointing because then you focus on that instead of the great movie. So camera action gets one thumbs down.
BUT... I would recommend this movie to anyone and everyone! I really did love it. And, in my book, true stories always earns more points automatically! It is inspiring. At least for me. It makes you want to cook those hard recipes in recipe books.

Here is a random thought, when we got out of the movie and into the car I went to put my left over soda cup in the cup holder. It didn't fit. Holy cow. This also happened with me when I went to Burger King a while ago. How gross is that! They made a MEDIUM, thats right not even a large, so huge its bigger than cup holders. Poor america. We all know obesity is a HUGE problem (no pun intended... haha) so what do we do, make portion sizes bigger. Thanks America for helping this food epidemic and congratulations for making us the biggest nation.

Ok thats all...
