Moms cake making

The last 3 days of my whole week off I spent with my mom. I went to the gym with Kristi and mom and worked out! I was on the eliptical machine for literally 2 minutes and thought I was going to die! Anyways, my mom wanted to make a cake for Rillz. I got all the ingredients out for her but made her measure, pour, and cook the cake. She tried to get me to help but I refused and made her do it. She did such a great job and we were both so proud!

What was I doing while my mom made the cake you ask?? I was trying on my new shoes and amuzing myself with my very own fashion show. These shoes were only $7 dollars! And the best part is I have no idea how to walk in hi-heels. But I am working on it.

Happy Birthday mom!

So tonight we celebrated my moms birthday early because my dad was leaving for Iraq on Sunday and Brent and Noelle were also in town. The whole family was together! It felt great to have everyone there. And Uncle Stan and Margene were also over at the house too. We had a great time, like always, enjoying each others company. We had pizza and salad for dinner and cake that Heidi made for dessert! My mom is now 47. She was worried all week because she didn't know how old she was. She thought she was in her mid 50's. After dinner and dessert and lots of loud talking we took family pictures. They are on my moms camera so I don't know how they turned out. Happy Birthday mom!

Mom is improving

Today is the 10th day after my mom had her stroke. She was in Mercy San Juan hospital which was a stroke center and happened to be about 15 min. from Brent and Noelle's apartment. The doctors and nurses saw enough progress in my mom that they transported her to Mercy general hospital to start her physical therapy. My mom is eating mashed potatoes and other pureed soft foods. Both her eyes are staying open a little longer. And she is already signaling for my dad to go go back to the apartment. So typical. It was hard to leave Sacramento on Saturday but the physical therapist was already saying it should be about a week until she can come home to Boise. That seems soon but they know better than I do. It will be nice and reasuring when my mom comes back to Boise. She will have more support here and my dad will have more help. Brent and Noelle have been a huge support for my dad and have been getting him out of the hospital so he doesn't go crazy. Thanks for all the support and prayers from family and friends during this last week.
