Our little Aurie arrived exactly 5 weeks early on April 5, 2013! She was 5 lbs. 11 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. Her due date was May 10, 2013. I would have NEVER predicted her coming that early or on that day. On April 4 I was feeling great. Went to water aerobics, planted vegetables in my pots outside, and froze a bunch of strawberries that day. I was having no contractions or aches and pains. On Friday morning, 4-5-2013, I woke up at 6:00 a.m. to some slight wetness in my underwear. Thinking it was just discharge I went to the bathroom and slowly just kept leaking fluid. I then realized my water had broke and woke Rillz up. We calmly got things in the car and luckily I already had my bag packed and a list for Rillz of items to complete bag. Arrived to triage at 7:15. Aurie was sideways in my stomach when we went in. They made sure it was my water breaking. The nurse told me I probably just peed myself. Heck lady, that would be a lot of pee! After verifying that it truly was my water, they did an ultrasound and baby had gone heads down but sunnyside up. My doctor warned me this was going to be a long labor and to prepare as I was only 1 1/2 cm dilated. We were admitted into a labor room at 9:15 a.m. Supposedly started pitocin but found out after baby was born that there was a clog in the line and had received no pitocin. I had been feeling NO contractions but by 9:45 had REALLY strong ones. I then really had to poop. I asked the nurse at least 5 times to go to the bathroom but was told I needed to wait until paperwork was done so she could take me off monitors and the feeling would go away soon. It only got worse. So she checked me and by 10:15 a.m. I was dilated a 10 and ready to deliver! I asked the nurse if I could still have an epidural and she laughed at me and said no but you can have this baby now! By 10:54 a.m. our baby girl was born. Didn't have any time for pain meds or to even process what happened! Right when she came out she was taken by NICU staff and analyzed. They started a CPAP on her right away but was on it for less then 12 hours and was taken off all IV's by the 4th day. She was on a bilirubin blanket for 3 days because her jaundice was on the verge of being to high. We ended up being in NICU for 9 days. Her weight kept her in there. She dropped to 4 lbs. 9 oz. and when we left the hospital was at 5 lbs. 2 oz. Those 9 days were SO long! The hospital was incredibly accommodating and let Rillz and me stay in random surgical rooms every night. It was exhausting and emotionally draining for both of us! Rillz would work, prepare for a catering and come stay in the hospital every single day. My day was usually trying to teach her to nurse, pump, clean pump and repeat every 3 hours from the start of the previous. And that process usually took me 2 hours each time. So finding time to eat and sleep in between was difficult. But Aurie is a beautiful baby that we are so proud and in love with! Also, I was so blessed to have such an amazing supportive husband through the whole thing.

Pregnancy photo shoot
I was on craigslist one day and a lady was looking for pregnant women in their 3rd trimester to practice maternity shoots for her portfolio. She would do the shoot for free! Hey, that sounds fun and it is something I would not pay for because I don't have extra money laying around right now. So I e-mailed her. She had a list of women that responded and she would choose from. She asked if I would want another person (husband or child) in the pictures too. I said, well, if you wanted a husband to practice with too then sure but, I also have a sister who is pregnant. She got right back to me wanting to schedule something with the both of us! So I called Kristi that day and said "hey guess what Kristi, I signed us up for free maternity pictures. What day are you available!" Haha!
It turned out to be really fun! Kristi was 33 weeks and I was 29 weeks along.
We did a lot of different poses and clothing changes but I guess those must have not turned out well because I didn't see any of them. That's ok because guess what, these were free!

Changing Table change up
Rillz and I got a changing table for $50 off craigslist. It was the type of style we really wanted. But, didn't totally match our crib. And we set a strict budget of $50 for the changing table so realistically finding one that matched our crib in our budget wasn't going to happen.
The top and knobs were painted a dark blue. Something I could have lived with but since I am not working right now I have a lot of time on my hands and decided to give it a make over.
The first day of trying to strip the paint I just about gave up. Stripping the varnish/paint and sanding was not going anywhere fast and I wanted to give up fast! Fortunately, there is an amazing invention called a sander. Duh. So we got a sander and, wow, progress happened before my eyes!
Trying to come up with a matching stain was quite the chore. I did a bunch of sample combinations using different stains for different amounts of times and then mixing them together. The end result of stain color is close enough for me.
The knobs I LOVE! I am so excited about them and feel so crafty to have made them work. Kristi had given me this cute fabric she had around her house from Hawaii. The pictures on it were cute and small. So I took button covers (a little kit at Jo-Anns that helps you create your own buttons with fabric) and decided I would somehow attach those to the knobs on the dresser. But, the buttons were not big enough to cover the knobs so I headed to Home Depot to look for new knobs. I didn't realize how expensive knobs were so being cheap my eyes automatically went to the price tags and I found the cheapest knob to see if it would work. I couldn't believe it! It was like the knobs were literally created for button covers. I didn't even have to glue or alter the button or knob. The button just snapped right on top of the knob. I was, and still am, thrilled!

So here is the changed up changing table!
The top isn't perfectly matched but better then the blue! And I wasn't about to strip and stain the whole changing table to "match".

Valentines 2013
For valentines this year I decided to make Rillz and me a nice dinner. I wanted it to be something he wouldn't expect.
I made lobster tails, mashed potatoes with blue cheese, and prosciutto wrapped asparagus. I also bought him a Heineken. When he came home from work he was very surprised! He knew I was making dinner but to see it that nice, he was shocked. For dessert I made a cheesecake with Guava glaze. That turned out alright. Not my best.
We got to eat our dinner together and then it was off to bed early as usual. We don't do valentines gifts for each other so this was nice and romantic for the night.
I am thankful for my husband everyday and all the hard work he does for our family. Happy Valentines everyone!

Pregnancy
I am now 28 weeks pregnant. In the start of my 3rd trimester. Sure came fast! Today Rillz and I met with a family doctor to see if we wanted him for her doctor (and ours too). We felt like we grew up 10 years this morning just by having to do that and think about it. My pregnancy has been really easy. She looks good, I feel good... can't ask for more!
I no longer crave spaghettios (thank goodness). I have been eating a lot of Edamame just because they are yummy, healthy, and a quick snack. But no cravings anymore as of right now.
Starting in March I am going to do a prenatal water aerobics class 2 times a week. Sounds fun and will get me moving more.
We don't have a for sure name for her yet. Our top contenders are Aurie, Anuhea, or Ellenore. But it could end up being something totally different. If she was a he we already had a name... Kai'noa but that will have to wait. We are excited to meet her!
I am not working right now. The family I was nannying for moved to Ireland for about 5 months. I am hoping they return after the baby is born and I can continue to be with the girls! So these last two weeks I have been trying to keep myself busy. Yesterday I spent 1 1/2 hours poop scooping the yard. Yes, we had that much poop in the back thanks to three dogs and three months of snowy cold weather. We also bought a changing table that I am scraping the paint off to stain the top to hopefully match our crib. I am not a patient person though when it comes to crafts so this is a challenge for me. I made a dinner menu for the rest of the month. I love it! Takes all the thinking out of having to worry about dinner. I am also addicted to watching a show on Netflix called Locked Up Abroad. Except last night I kept having bad images of some of the episodes and it was me who was locked in jail in a foreign country.
Anyways, enough rambling for now. Peace out...
This was taken at 26 weeks pregnant

Rillz Birthday
Rillz had his birthday February 9th. Now 34 years old. He spent that morning going to the shooting range with Ren, Brent, and Mark. Of course had a blast! (Haha pun intended) and came home wanting a new sort of gun that so and so has. Then Ren and Rillz went to a motorcycle shop just because they wanted to drool over what bike they want. That night we had the family over to celebrate Rillz's birthday and my mom came up with the yummy menu. Thai chicken lettuce wraps and wontons. So good! I definitely had my share of dinner.
Rillz received awesome gifts he was way excited about. And, of course, family was fun to be around. We are always loud, honest, and laughing! Happy 34th Birthday Rillz.
(Rillz, P.S. your present from me is still baking and will be ready around May for you) :)

Birthday weekend
My 27th birthday was on a Sunday this year. I was spoiled and celebrated with Rillz ALL day Saturday and with my family Sunday night. For Christmas Brent and Noelle gave us an "Ultimate Date Package." It included movie tickets, mani/pedis, and lunch gift certificate to Chik-Fil-A. And for Christmas from my boss we received a gift certificate for a nice restaurant downtown called the Fork. So the week before I tried to schedule our mani/pedis for the weekend and unfortunately they were booked
:( But, we still had a FANTASTIC day together all day! We woke up and went to Babies R' Us to register for baby. Then I was starving so went to Chik-Fil-A for lunch and then Target to register as well which was fun but all the baby crap these places think you NEED is retarded. Anyways, we also went to a movie Twilight:Breaking Dawn #2. Awesome movie! We just loved it! Then we went to a nice dinner and were just loving every minute of it. Rillz got a nice steak dinner with a couple glasses of wine. I got a salmon dinner with asparagus fries and wanted everything else on the menu. I was so FULL when we left. We went home after my birthday day and were just so happy! Probably the last nice date day for a while.
Headed out for dinner...
Babies R' Us parking lot
Sunday dinner was beautifully hosted by Brent and Noelle. They were so kind to volunteer their house and time for my birthday party. The dinner was SO yummy of chicken alfredo pasta with oven roasted broccoli, green salad, and herb bread. My mouth is watering... For dessert we had angel food cake with fresh whipped cream topped with strawberries/blueberries! They had just gotten a new dining table and chairs. The food was served on real dishes not paper/plastic. I got really spoiled by everyone too with my gifts. Thanks Rillz and family for making my 27th birthday amazing! It is crazy to think this is my last birthday without a kid... Freedom is ending!!
Isn't the dining area pretty!
Brecken always in the middle of everything
Iris' pretty dress after church
Loving their uncle
Cami was grumpy pants that night so I am surprised I caught a smile
Me, Gunnar, Brecken, and Cami thinking we are pretty awesome
Little miss Iris playing
Blowing out my fake candle. Yummy
Brent having a tissue paper party with the kids.
Of course going through the pictures I find a picture of Rillz with his eyes crossed...
