Happy Easter

Happy Easter! What do two adults with no kids and 2 dogs do on easter? Well, usually nothing. But this year I decided to have a small easter treat hunt. I put the dogs in the house and hid dog treats in the backyard. I had no idea what they would do. I thought Simon and Malu would go outside and just stare at me. But that was not the case with Malu. She immediately smelled the treats and started sniffing them out. She found the first one and Simon followed Malu and ate the treat before she actually got it. I hid 7 treats. Simon got 2 and Malu 5. Simon could not smell them worth crap. But Malu had a VERY busy nose. She would eat one and then sniff, sniff, sniff walk to the next treat. Her smeller is amazing. Simon was standing right next to a treat and didn't even notice it. Malu came from across the yard to that same treat and ate it. The doggie easter treat hunt was pretty entertaining for me and Rillz.

A treat I hid before the dogs came outside

Malu found it!

Hidden treat. This is the treat Simon was standing right next to. He was under that bench. Malu sniffed it out and ate it though.

Malu ate it and Simon ran off.

After the treat hunt Rillz and I went for a bike ride. Yesterday we went to a police auction and bought him a bike for $50. We are both excited to ride more this summer.

My bike. Rillz is changing my seat out.
Now I am off to the parents soon for some family time. Happy 2011 Easter everyone

Valentines Day

For valentines day my dad had asked Rillz to make dinner for the family, my dads 2 brothers, Ray and Spencer, and my great uncle Stan and Margene. Thats 15 people! So we said yes. Rillz and I cooked the food while my parents were at church. We started at 10 A.M. so dinner would be ready at 5. I actually helped a lot more than usual (I will be honest, I get lazy and weave myself out of the kitchen and onto the couch). But this time it wasn't like that. Rillz started the chicken cordon bleu while I made a yummy breakfast for us. Then I made heart shaped brownies just because. And then I made angel food cake for the dessert. Rillz then made some shrimp thingy out of ginormous shrimp and also twice baked potatoes (getting the potatoe out of the skin was stressing me out. I was attempting to help and kept ripping the skin, Yes I was really getting stressed!) Anyways, it was delicious and being with the whole family is the best thing EVER! So happy valentines day to us all! Oh speaking of valentines day, that movie was really cute! Talk about SO many famous stars in one movie!

Just hanging out waiting for dinner

Kristi and Rillz. Kristi has a little tiny baby bump! She is always so skinny that in this stage of pregnancy she just looks my size. She said she just looks fat... thanks Kristi, are you saying I'm fat... haha!

My heart brownies. I just had to decorate them. These are the only ones left by the time I took a picture. And sorry it's so dark.

DINNERS READY....

Twice baked potatoes
The shrimp thingys
Chicken cordon bleu

All the guys on valentines day

I didn't get a picture of the girls because... well I was in it so it's not on my camera. And I forgot a picture of the dessert too. Oh-well

Ok gotta get back to spending my Sunday finishing my two weekend craft projects (which I will blog of course), cutting coupons from the newspaper, taking a nap cuz I have been up since 5:30 A.M., getting my eyes checked and probably picking out glasses, and watching olympics. Yeah, I have to get my eyes checked. I have been getting serious headaches and squinting A LOT more these last couple weeks. Alright peoples, thats all for now.

Easter

Easter was fun. I took my mom to my Great Aunt Nancys. She always has an easter party at her house. Lots of food and great company. We always eat, have an easter egg hunt for the kids, and an easter toss for the adults. Kristi was my egg partner. We did pretty well. The egg splattered all over Kristis arm when she went to catch it. Heidi and Ren won. There were 4 different groups doing it. After the party me and my mom went to Hannah Montana movie! I loved it! We got popcorn and drinks. Wow they are huge amounts of soda and popcorn.

Congratulations Heidi and Ren!

I was so excited when I heard Ren was pregnant. He is showing so much!

Heidi being embarrassed. But happy that she
doesn't have to carry the baby.

Gunnar was too cute searching for eggs. He would shake
each one to see if there was money or candy in them.
Kristi and Gunnar! Easter 2009

Hawaiian Hula Party

For the last year I have been doing hawaiian hula. Kristi and Heidi also do it. It is so much fun and I love knowing that I am going to see my sisters every Saturday. They are so funny and the best sisters any one could ask for. We all care for each other so much... anyways we do hula and this Sunday we had a Hula Christmas Party. It was so fun. We danced our new dances for our family and friends.

This is the Auntie class performing for every one.

Heidi  waiting to go out and dance. This is one of our outfits.

This is the Keiki (kids) class performing. They are so cute when they dance.

This is me with our Pu ili's (the sticks in my hand). We do an awesome partner dance with them! Heidi is my partner and we do so well together.

My partner with her Pu ili's

Heidi and Kristi in the back practicing

This is Katie. She is our little high school hula dancer. She is funny and sat with us during dinner

Here is Tasha (on the left) and Auntie Patty (on the right). Tasha is our hula teacher and Auntie is her mom and is in charge of the whole hula group. They are just so great and make the experience wonderful. They have created a family with the hula groups.

Me just waiting to eat. Heidi and I were bored and took pictures of ourselves to see how they turned out.

Here is Heidi's best take

They had some of the hawaiian guys dress up as santa and two elves. When they came out the kids were so excited and I just about wet myself with laughter. Those were the biggest elves I have ever seen. It was so great and they were a wonderful sport.

HoHoHo. Here comes santa all the way from Hawaii
I can't wait for next years Hawaiian Party and to see how many dancers we learn in the up coming year.

Christmas decorations

I love Christmas time and all the decorations. I have very little Christmas decorations but still love them.

This is my tree. We got it 3 years ago, so yes a fake one, at Big Lots for $10. My ornaments I got at K-Mart for way cheap after Christmas 2 years ago. Dan doesn't like them because they have glitter and he hates glitter. He says glitter is the herpes of arts and crafts. I think it is hilarious. Our angel was a hand me down from Kristi and Jeff. Not the cutest but it was free.

I love this advent calendar! Growing up we had this and the little bear moves to a spot around the house to the look for Christmas. Well, my mom had gotten rid of it and I was so sad. Kristi was at a thrift store a couple years ago and new how I wanted an advent calendar. She found the exact one from when we were a kid and got it for me!!! I was sooo happy and excited! It does need a little tlc but thats ok.

This is Dan and my Christmas stockings. We got them at Cracker Barrel and I just love them.

These are my pillows. My mom had made them for me. They are made out of placemats. How brilliant! She just stuffed them and they are perfect.

This is Elliott (the cat) and Simon (the dog) stockings. I wish I had the matching dog stocking to the cat one. But when I got the cat one I didn't have a dog so didn't need it.

These are my Christmas decorations and I look at them everyday because they are so neat. I also LOVE listening to Christmas music. I would listen to it all year if I could but then it probably wouldn't be so special around this time.

Date night

Daniel and I both got off work at 6 tonight and had no plans... this never happens. I have been wanting to go to the Botanical Gardens this year with the christmas lights all up and lit. So we did and I loved it. Today Boise had the first big snow fall of the season so the lights looked even better with the glistening of the snow. So pretty!

When I took the pictures, the snow flakes really showed up. All of the delightful white blobs in the pictures are the snowflakes... some are in not such convenient places.

The snow was really pretty on the trees and lights. This picture doesn't do it justice.

The two of us all bundled up... the weather was, to our surprise, not freezing and was pretty bearable.
I don't know what happened to this picture but it turned out kind of interesting and neat.

After the Botanical Gardens we went to see the movie Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. It was funny but very predictable. Oh well still fun and you can't beat $4 for a movie, popcorn, and drink.

Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving Dan and I both worked. So we just had dinner together after I got off work. Being pescatarian, the only meat we eat is seafood, we bought a tofurkey for the first year. It was shaped like a roast and was not so bad tasting. We also had mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy.

Here is the mushroom gravy

The inside of  the roast had a brown rice mixture that was quite tasty
Nice and hot! Bon Appetite...
